Islamic Love Stories: How Indonesian Soap Opperas Presented Islamic Version of Romantic Love in the 2000s

During Ramadhan month in the 2000s, most Indonesian TV stations used to air Islamic-themed soap operas. However, stories of those operas did not represent Islamic values. Rather than showing messages their stories, scenes were all about melodrama and mysticism. This research aims analyze compare two Islamic-labeled operas, Lorong Waktu 3 (2002) Kiamat Sudah Dekat (2005), claimed as real by Dedi Mizwar. While I intend prove Mizwar's claim, also will focus on examining romantic both use qualitative methods objective collecting primary sources digitally YouTube secondary online-offline libraries. The videos Mizwars' are available open-accessed YouTube, so obtaining relevant is effortless. After researching, found that mysticism popularities many labeled influence love production.
